On June 16, 2022, the DIEEC hosted a panel discussion and professional learning experience (PLE) on anti-bias education strategies in early childhood. Through a question and answer format, early childhood advocates discussed the film “Reflecting on Anti-Bias Education in Action: The Early Years.”
This film demonstrates the importance of teacher reflection on identity, context, and practice in anti-bias education by featuring four early childhood professionals’ daily commitment to equity in diverse classrooms.
Panelists included: Adam Foley (director of diversity education, assessment & outreach with the University of Delaware Office of Institutional Equity), Nneka Ibekwe-Okafor (research scientist, Center on the Ecology of Early Development at Boston University), and Jennifer Clement (director, Educere Institute and director, Delaware Center for Youth Development Children’s Beach House).
